How Long Is a Boat Trip in Alanya?

The honest answer is that it depends which boat, and that the number you see advertised is usually time afloat rather than the length of your day. Hotel transfer sits at both ends of every trip here, and the Alanya strip runs more than forty kilometres, so where you are staying changes your day by an hour or more before the boat has moved.

Every boat, door to door

• Sunset cruise — 4 hours. The shortest, and the only evening trip that is about the coast rather than a party.
• Night disco boat — 4 hours. Same length, opposite mood, and it runs after dark.
• Fishing trip — 6 hours. Slow by design: a rod, a deck and a swim stop on the way back.
• Pirate galleon — 7 hours. The shortest of the full days, which is exactly why it is the one we point families at.
• Starcraft — 9 hours. The same coastline as the galleon, stretched.
• Manavgat river and bazaar — 9 hours. Inland, on fresh water, Mondays and Thursdays only.
• Green Canyon day — 9 hours. Also inland, also fresh water, and colder.
• Suluada — a full day. The island is roughly 200 km west, so the road is a large part of it.

Why seven hours can feel like nine

Pickup runs along the strip in sequence. A hotel at the far end is collected first and dropped last, which adds real time at both ends of the same seven-hour trip. That is also why we confirm your pickup the evening before rather than printing a time on a page: a single number would be wrong for half the people reading it.

Which length suits whom

With small children, seven hours is usually the ceiling, and the pirate galleon is the shortest full day with a cooked lunch on it. If you want the coast without giving up the day, the four-hour sunset sailing does the castle and the cave shoreline in an evening.

The nine-hour days are for people who actively want to be out — and the Suluada run is longer still. It is worth being honest with yourself about a long coach leg before you book that one.
