The quiet boat: the sunset cruise
Four hours, €35 per adult, daily. It leaves in the late afternoon and turns west so the Seljuk walls and the Red Tower are behind the light rather than in front of it, then runs the cave coastline while the water goes from turquoise to bronze.
Be clear about what it is not: our record for this boat lists the cruise and the hotel transfer, and nothing else. No dinner, no drinks package, no music. If you want an evening with food, eat in Alanya afterwards.
The swimming day: Suluada
€43 per adult, Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. Suluada is an uninhabited island off Adrasan with pale sand and water clear enough to see the anchor chain, and it is comfortably the best swimming on this stretch of coast.
The catch is the drive. The island is roughly 200 km west of Alanya, so it is a full day with a long road transfer each way. It is worth it if you like being in the water and it is a poor choice if a long coach leg would spoil the day.
The boat to skip if you want peace
The pirate galleon and the Starcraft both run a foam party with an animation crew, and up to forty guests. They are good days and children love them; two people looking for a quiet afternoon usually do not.
The night disco boat is a night out, not a romantic evening — a live DJ, a foam party and a bar.
